Kil'Jaeden Dead

Oct 24, 2008

Game Over

Computus Demum is proud to announce its Horde server first Kil'Jaeden kill, thus making us the first Horde guild on Eonar to finish TBC raiding.

The elation I derive personally from this feat can't be overstated. Over 3 years, we've had so many people tell us we wouldn't amount to a successful raiding guild, and of our impending doom. Certainly, we were told, my role as guild leader and our pathetic officer core and raid leadership would fall apart, because they weren't skilled players, I'm an incompetent GM... even that we have a "clique" formed. This kill vindicated us even more than our previous proud moments.

It was a prouder moment then when we drove a guild to a second-night kill of Chromaggus with only 32 people in the raid. Go figure, Shiz had the gbank ready to go with flasks to pass out and a massive store of consumables. (...3 years ago. Alot's changed, huh?)

It was better than when we didn't know what we were doing while FC and Cal spearheaded three fresh kills in a single night in AQ40 at the absolute peak of CD's 40-man raiding days. We ended with half the guild and its core of raiders flabbergasted. Unfortunately, that was the last successful pre-2.0 raiding night we ever got in before the shit hit the fan with Unrelenting and we watched our successful guild try and go the way of so many other raid guilds before it. (We miss you, Moon)

It was better than when Fuse and Andoras put MONTHS of theorycrafting in for Brutallus. Their hard work would be the biggest factor for the strategy, optimization, and preparation to get our definitive Horde-first kill and make CD the exclusive leader among Eonar horde progression guilds. No other horde guild on Eonar brought down Brutallus before the 3.0 patch. Not Unrelenting, not TDC, not Muteki -- the guilds most people abandoned us for as TBC hit.

It was even better than our Brutallus one-shot the week after people we had called friends for months hurt us by ninja transferring in the middle of the night. Six people left in a week, but the very next week this guild showed more resolve than I thought it had left by smashing Sunwell. We could do without the glaives, but to have two people we thought enjoyed being here leave without any real reason was a slap in the face. Lesser guilds would have died then and there. CD just got better and more focused.

As I post this, the officers are taking a deep, relaxed breath, and the RAs are smiling at a job well done. We are vindicated of everything we have gone through in the past 2 years. We have made our mark. The moment may be short, but the memories will last forever, which is the real reason we all raid.

Long live CD.

Long live the friendships it creates.

So, the night after we kill Twins, Mu'ru, Entropius, or whatever is down. We hear there used to be a lot of adds on this fight...

Twins Down

Oct 20, 2008

4/6 Sunwell

After taking them to 85% Phase 2 before 3.0, a kill on the nerfed version was inevitable.

We used our last hour and a half to take the Nerfwell version of M'uru into Phase 2, so expect another kill shot soon.
